Place it on a hard, flat surface with all four feet down, leaving at least 70cm of height clearance and 80cm of depth clearance so the waste bin can open fully. Use the original adapter only. The unit runs a self-test within 6 minutes of power-on, after which Auto mode is enabled by default and the Auto lamp lights. Do not move it while powered on — lifting it for more than 5 seconds triggers the gravity protection lock.

Add litter through the entrance up to the MAX line marked on the grey soft section inside the barrel; going over can cause spillage into the mechanism. For top-ups keep nearer the MIN line. After adding 0.6kg or more, hold Remove Odour for 2 seconds to level it. Different litters sit differently, so in the app open Settings and use Sand surface calibration — default 3 on a 0–6 scale, increase if the right side sits low, decrease if the left does.

Download the Tuya app, confirm your phone is on 2.4GHz WiFi with Bluetooth and Location on, tap Add device, then hold Auto on the panel for 2 seconds until the WiFi lamp flashes. If it will not connect, check you are on 2.4GHz rather than 5GHz, that Bluetooth is on, that the WiFi lamp is flashing, and that your router is not overloaded with connected devices.

Auto Clean runs once your cat leaves, with a default 3-minute wait and a 15-minute enforced gap between cleans, both adjustable in the app (wait 0–60 min, gap 0–120 min). Timing Clean instead runs to a fixed schedule you set. Manual Clean triggers immediately, but will not run if it detects your cat inside.

Remove Odour starts a 30-minute cycle using the built-in ion purification module, which produces a small, safety-standard-compliant amount of O₃, and can be scheduled in the app. Do Not Disturb sets quiet hours during which the display goes dark and Auto Clean is disabled, so it does not run noisily overnight. Cycles already queued finish first.

Press Auto and Remove Odour together for 2 seconds to lock the panel — the box keeps its schedule but the physical buttons are disabled. The same combination unlocks it, and it can also be toggled from the app. The infrared sensor is off by default; if enabled it may trigger frequently near reflective flooring within about 30cm, in which case disable it or reposition the unit.

Hold Clean for 2 seconds — the bin rotates to the bag-changing angle and holds there for 60 seconds. Remove the used bag, wrap the new bag's opening around the bin's door frame, pull the drawstring through, press it into the tie-up clip and tighten. Tuck the bag's back edge clear of the lid and confirm the buckle is fastened before running again. The Full lamp is a reference prompt only and can be recalibrated in app settings.

Fit a new waste bag first, then hold Replace litter for 2 seconds. The box collects all remaining litter from the barrel into the bag, ready for a full clean or to move the barrel. Do not remove the filter or the grey soft padding inside the barrel when cleaning, and if you take out the yellow rubber plug for the urine-leakage vent, remember to refit it.
