Four weight sensors, not a claim
If your cat re-enters or another pet approaches, rotation stops immediately. Pinch-resistant, non-drawer design — this is the engineering that separates it from a motor bolted to a box.
Up to fifteen days hands-off
Waste is raked into a sealed, odour-locked compartment after every use. For one cat under normal use that is a fortnight without touching it, and a weekend away stops being a problem.
Run it from your phone
One-touch clean, one-touch sand change, scheduled cleaning and usage tracking over 2.4GHz WiFi. Quiet hours stop it running overnight.
Scooping daily, the smell, and being away overnight
Three problems that all have the same root, and the box on the floor solves none of them. The Big Clean rakes waste into a sealed compartment after each use, which deals with the daily job and the smell at once, and holds enough that a single-cat household can leave it a fortnight.
The part worth paying attention to is the safety engineering, because this is a rotating drum your cat climbs into. Four separate weight sensors stop the rotation the moment a cat is detected, and the mechanism is a non-drawer design specifically to avoid the pinch risk older automatic boxes had. If you have kittens under 1kg or a pregnant cat, use manual clean only — the sensors are calibrated for adult cats.

Litter particles must be no larger than 3mm diameter and 15mm length for reliable rotation. Leave at least 70cm of height clearance and 80cm behind the unit so the waste bin can open fully. Never wash the base — it houses the electronics; wipe it with a damp cloth only.
Advanced FAQ
How often do I need to empty it?
Up to 15 days for a single cat under normal use, though this varies with how often your cat uses it and how full you are willing to let the compartment get before emptying. In a multi-cat household expect to check it considerably more often.
What litter can I use?
Tofu, Bentonite, Mineral or Mixed litter all work well. Avoid Crystal litter and long-strip Pine or Tofu, which can interfere with the rotation mechanism. Particles should be under 3mm diameter and 15mm length.
Is it safe if my cat goes back in while it's cleaning?
Yes. Four separate weight sensors detect your cat or another pet approaching or re-entering, and rotation stops immediately. The mechanism is also a pinch-resistant, non-drawer design. If you have kittens under 1kg or a pregnant cat, use manual Clean only rather than Auto Clean, as the sensors are calibrated for adult cats.
Does it work with any WiFi?
It supports 2.4GHz WiFi only, not 5GHz. Most home routers broadcast both, but if yours is 5GHz-only you will need to change your router settings before setup.
How do I clean it properly, not just the automatic cleaning?
It breaks down into four main parts — barrel, front baffle, litter funnel and bottom tray — each removable in two steps. The barrel and waste bin can be washed with water. The base must never be washed, as it houses the electrical components; wipe it with a damp cloth only.
Is it suitable for multiple cats?
Yes, though the 15-day hands-off window shortens with more frequent use, so you will want to check and empty it more often.
How do I set it up and power it on?
Place it on a hard, flat surface with all four feet down, leaving at least 70cm of height clearance and 80cm of depth clearance so the waste bin can open fully. Use the original adapter only. The unit runs a self-test within 6 minutes of power-on, after which Auto mode is enabled by default and the Auto lamp lights. Do not move it while powered on — lifting it for more than 5 seconds triggers the gravity protection lock.
How do I add litter and calibrate the surface?
Add litter through the entrance up to the MAX line marked on the grey soft section inside the barrel; going over can cause spillage into the mechanism. For top-ups keep nearer the MIN line. After adding 0.6kg or more, hold Remove Odour for 2 seconds to level it. Different litters sit differently, so in the app open Settings and use Sand surface calibration — default 3 on a 0–6 scale, increase if the right side sits low, decrease if the left does.
How do I connect the app?
Download the Tuya app, confirm your phone is on 2.4GHz WiFi with Bluetooth and Location on, tap Add device, then hold Auto on the panel for 2 seconds until the WiFi lamp flashes. If it will not connect, check you are on 2.4GHz rather than 5GHz, that Bluetooth is on, that the WiFi lamp is flashing, and that your router is not overloaded with connected devices.
How do Auto Clean and Timing Clean work?
Auto Clean runs once your cat leaves, with a default 3-minute wait and a 15-minute enforced gap between cleans, both adjustable in the app (wait 0–60 min, gap 0–120 min). Timing Clean instead runs to a fixed schedule you set. Manual Clean triggers immediately, but will not run if it detects your cat inside.
What do the odour removal and Do Not Disturb settings do?
Remove Odour starts a 30-minute cycle using the built-in ion purification module, which produces a small, safety-standard-compliant amount of O₃, and can be scheduled in the app. Do Not Disturb sets quiet hours during which the display goes dark and Auto Clean is disabled, so it does not run noisily overnight. Cycles already queued finish first.
How do I use the child lock and infrared sensor?
Press Auto and Remove Odour together for 2 seconds to lock the panel — the box keeps its schedule but the physical buttons are disabled. The same combination unlocks it, and it can also be toggled from the app. The infrared sensor is off by default; if enabled it may trigger frequently near reflective flooring within about 30cm, in which case disable it or reposition the unit.
How do I replace the waste bag?
Hold Clean for 2 seconds — the bin rotates to the bag-changing angle and holds there for 60 seconds. Remove the used bag, wrap the new bag's opening around the bin's door frame, pull the drawstring through, press it into the tie-up clip and tighten. Tuck the bag's back edge clear of the lid and confirm the buckle is fastened before running again. The Full lamp is a reference prompt only and can be recalibrated in app settings.
How do I replace all the litter?
Fit a new waste bag first, then hold Replace litter for 2 seconds. The box collects all remaining litter from the barrel into the bag, ready for a full clean or to move the barrel. Do not remove the filter or the grey soft padding inside the barrel when cleaning, and if you take out the yellow rubber plug for the urine-leakage vent, remember to refit it.
