About The Big Pet Shop
The Big Pet Shop was founded from a simple need: keeping our own pets, Bella and Milly, safe during dark winter walks.
Bella, our energetic dog, loves exploring woodland trails and open moorland, while Milly, our curious cat, prefers the comfort of home — but both inspired our commitment to safety, quality, and reliability.
What began as a personal search for dependable, weather-resistant gear quickly grew into a mission: to provide British pet owners with products they can genuinely rely on, whatever the season.
Our Mission
I’m Joseph, founder of The Big Pet Shop.
After spending far too much on generic “flashing” collars from large multi-national retailers—only for them to fail after a single rainy walk—I realised there had to be a better solution. British weather demands equipment that is reliable, durable, and built to perform in real conditions.
That belief led us to develop a carefully selected range of practical, high-quality gear designed specifically for everyday British pet owners. From the Glow Bright Dog Harness for enhanced visibility on dark winter evenings, to The Big Trail Premium No Pull Harness for greater comfort and control on longer walks, every product serves a purpose.

Milly is the soulful heart of our home. As a senior girl, she is the reason we prioritize comfort. Whether she's enjoying the fresh air of the Lancashire countryside or a gentle stroll on the coast, Milly is our "Chief Comfort Officer." If a harness isn't soft enough for her to nap in after a walk, it doesn't make the cut.
If Milly is the heart, Bella is the high-energy engine! She is our tireless lead product tester and the star of our videos. Whether she’s sprinting through the muddy trails of the North West or splashing through South Coast puddles, Bella puts every Glow Bright™ Harness through its paces. She’s the reason our gear is 100% weatherproof and rugged.
A Message from Joseph Hi, I’m Joseph, the founder of The Big Pet Shop. My journey into pet safety started because I’m a dog dad first and a business owner second. Operating from our base in Bacup, I spend a huge part of my life outdoors with Milly and Bella. I wanted to create a shop that reflected the genuine care and quality I look for when buying gear for my own girls.
