3D foam, not a flat pad
A raised three-dimensional foam layer holding thousands of air pockets. Weight spreads across it instead of pressing through, which is support rather than cushioning.
Those air pockets run cool
Air moves through the layer rather than being trapped against the dog, which is why fidgety sleepers and thick-coated breeds settle better on it.
Waterproof base, washable top
A waterproof base takes the accidents so the crate does not, and the cover comes off for a 30° machine wash. Non-slip underneath so it stays put.
Why the sizes are in centimetres
Small, medium and large mean nothing to a crate
Crate mats are usually sold in vague letters and arrive either swimming in the crate or curling up the sides. Neither is any use, and both mean a return.
Every size here maps to a real crate dimension — roughly 50, 75, 100 and 120cm — so you can measure the inside of your own crate and know before you order. The foam does the rest: 3D structure for pressure relief and airflow, a waterproof base underneath it, a cover that unzips for the wash.

Measure the inside length of your crate and pick the size at or just under it. The mat should lie flat across the base — if it rides up the walls it is too big, and your dog will push it into a heap.
