A sealed layer, not a coating
Water-resistant finishes wash off after a few cycles and then you own an ordinary blanket. The backing here is a genuine sealed layer built to survive repeated machine washing.
Reversible, so it has two jobs

Measure the surface you are protecting rather than the dog. You want overhang on both sides — that is what stops the blanket being dragged into the middle the first time your dog turns around on it.

Is it actually waterproof?
Yes — one side is fully waterproof, so wet fur, muddy paws and the occasional accident stay on the blanket, not on your sofa, bed or car seat.
Which way up do I use it?

How do I wash it?
